Starting a blog is one of the strategies we always recommend to our clients. Not because we like to write all day, but because we know how useful this can be for the SEO positioning of your brand new website.
So, how much does a blog cost ? Or rather, how much can a single article (or blog post , in technical jargon) cost? Is it really worth it? Can we do without it? Let’s try to answer all these questions!
Starting a Blog: How Much Does It Cost to Run a Business Blog and Why You Should Do It
Here is the copywriter who speaks to you, or rather, writes to you. Today I decid to leave the plurale maiestatis to speak in the first person. Yes, because only those who write can understand how much work there is behind a single article.
A job made of documentation, drafting, revision, [and second, third and fourth revision] optimization, publication…. All operations that are aim at building enjoyable, clickable content that brings visits to the site that hosts it.
Yes, that is the ultimate goal. It is not just about brand awareness, it is not yet conversion: it is a middle ground, made of tricks and tips to offer help to the user.
How much does it cost to start a blog?
I can’t give you an absolute answer to this question. It depends on a very long list of variables. But I can give you a rough idea, and then, after you’ve roll your eyes and told me I’m crazy, I’ll also explain why.
A single blog post (not the entire management) can, and should, cost at least €50. In some cases, the cost can even rise to €100, €200 or €300.
Opening a blog , in and of itself, is free. The creation of pages is in fact part of the “package” of building the site. The problem is that a blog is like a plant: it should be constantly car for, nourish and protect from dangers.
What does it mean to maintain a blog? And what are these dangers? No hacker would ever come to my site!
No, that’s not what I mean. The metaphor of the little plant perfectly expresses the meaning of a corporate blog : it is not an object that ends in itself, but is instead in continuous expansion, that is, in growth. And this growth occurs through nourishment. Nourishment is the constant updating of the contents of the blog itself, because it is precisely in this way that Google recognizes the site to which the blog belongs as updat and therefore reliable, thus making it rise in position.
The dangers for a blog are therefore lack of nourishment, oblivion (have you ever seen the last page of Google?) and, always in a metaphorical sense, death.
To recap: the blog is just one of the many strategies that contribute to the good positioning of a website. The blog must be constantly updat, and must contain a certain type of content: which ones?
“How to start a blog and live happily”
Let’s start from the assumption that they must be quality content. It would be easy to open a post and fill it with blah blah blah: but you would soon realize that the visits would be equal to 0.
We have seen that the purpose of the blog is to keep the site ranking high, to increase visits and thus to favor conversion. This is what we explain to our clients, and it is true.
But there is another side of the coin: the user. Why should he bother reading more than a thousand words of your site?
The reason is very simple: because it provides an answer to a question. The meaning of the blog from this other point of view is precisely to help the user who, once opened Google, has searchefor what he nee or an answer to his questions .
Try a very simple experiment: search for something on Google and look carefully at the results. Except for Wikipia, which pages offer you a solution and do not propose a product or service? Only blogs. And those same blogs are in the vast majority of cases part of those sites that offer you the product.
And, if you read the titles carefully, you will notice that in most cases they are questions or answers to questions.
SEO Optimization and Attention to Quality
This is because the first results you will find are built with SEO in mind. Therefore, analyses have been made on the most search terms, rules of readability, usability, attention to images, division into paragraphs, repetition of keywords, use of the passive form, transition words have been follow…
The problem is that Google’s rules aren’t always easy to follow.
For example, as a copywriter, I tend to have some preferences when it comes to writing. I really like the rhetorical figure of anaphora, but when I use it for a blog post I get a r dot in the readability evaluation. SEO doesn’t like repetitions at the beginning of sentences!

At the same time, however, I also like to avoid writing the same word and would prefer to use synonyms. Wrong! From an SEO perspective, once the keyword has been identifi, it must be repeat a certain number of times, without variations.
Again, it may happen that I want to write about a certain topic but then have to change it, because thanks to the tools at my disposal I discover that what I have in mind is not exactly what the user is looking for.
Opening a blog and writing for it introduction to data mining therefore becomes a balancing act between respecting the strict rules of SEO and paying attention to creativity and aesthetics to make the article as enjoyable as possible.
And it’s not over yet! Because, beyond the form, you also have to think about the content. I wrote about industrial ovens, veterinary clinics, gift ideas, dental offices, but obviously I’m not an expert in any of these things!
Much of the writer’s effort lies in the ability bqb directory to find information: understanding how the process being describ works, finding and comparing sources, and returning output that is understandable to everyone.
Who is right?
Are you still wondering why starting a blog can cost so much?
After seeing the work behind it, you probably thought that starting a blog and writing a blog post was well worth the $50. But what is the reason for such large gaps between different quotes?
Here too, there can be many reasons. An international agency ba in Milan will certainly apply higher rates than a small provincial agency, for starters.
Even the topic you cover . Can make a difference: a niche requires more precise . Documentation and . Consequently more hours of . Work than a mainstream topic.
And even so, there will be a big difference between an article that – however correct in terms of content – is poorly written, and one that actually achieves the goal of bringing the user closer to a certain site and from there to the company.
This is what we do for our clients, and what we obviously do in our own blog, in these lines.
